Square Enix has released a free demo for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PlayStation 5, after showing off the second part of its remake of the 1997 classic in a dedicated State of Play stream on Tuesday.
The demo comes in two parts, with the second being added later in an update. The first part, available now, is almost the first full chapter of the game. It lets you play as the hero Cloud and the antagonist Sephiroth in an early flashback episode called the "Nibelheim Episode", based on a memorable moment from the original game. It's very dramatic and is a brilliant starting point for the Final Fantasy 7 story.
