The extent of this sudden change is highlighted by the August 2023 report 'Working location trends in Great Britain 2020-2023', published by D. Clark. It reveals that in May 2023, 39 per cent of UK workers indicated they had worked from home at some point in the previous seven days. At the height of the first wave of the pandemic, in April 2020, almost half of UK workers worked from home, and just 31 per cent of people traveled to work.

Similar data can be seen with home work trends in the US, according to the Harvard Business Review Study from August 2023. The report says: “Teleworking increased during the pandemic, from about 6 percent of all work days in the US to more than 50 percent in the spring of 2020. Since then, it steadily decreased and since the beginning of 2023 has been around 28 percent.
