Some of the old places are sad and empty now

Miss Underground – Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

The once opalescent areas of Grand Glacier and Lavish Lair are not what they used to be in Fortnite.

Players can still visit these locations in the current Chapter 5 Season 2 map, but they don't have the character they used to. The new update has removed their boss fights and vaults full of loot. Sure, you can still walk the hallowed halls of each location, but everything feels a lot emptier. Now, fans have been posting melodramatic (and somewhat funny) clips on TikTok, sharing what they miss about the old version when visiting now lonely places.

Epic Games released Chapter 5 Season 2 of Fortnite on March 8th. Another season brings flashy new locations like the hazy underground lands of Grim Gate and the celestial Mount Olympus. Generally speaking, these new Greek-inspired locations have been hotbeds for battling players, but that has left other locations in the dust. For those who take the time to make the trek out to ancient regions will find them surprisingly empty. Now players can't fight the old bosses and the locations have been emptied of their annoying NPCs and loot filled vaults.
