Do you check dating apps like Tinder and Bumble very often after an intense session of swiping left and right only to realize that no one has swiped you back yet? If so, do you feel sad, lonely and unworthy? Well, you are not alone.

Jordan Peterson: STOP USING THESE BULLSH*T DATING APPS

A recent article published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships says that people tend to feel more lonely after repeatedly checking dating apps. The study was conducted on 269 students from Ohio State University. All of these students used at least one dating app and were asked about their mental health.

"In particular, the increased sense of control that applications provide may lead to a greater preference for connecting through these channels and ultimately lead to compulsive use," the paper says.

Some people missed classes, pending deadlines and even skipped work to spend more time on the dating platform. This is a clear indication of how much modern apps have affected people's lives. In fact, a recent study shows that spending more time on social media can cause serious mental health problems like depression.
