One of Germany's major political parties is still struggling to recover member data more than three months after a cyber attack on its systems in June.

The centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU) is concerned that the issue could even affect the choice of representatives for next year's federal election.

According to a resolution of the CDU's state executive committee in Berlin: "Due to the hacker attack on the CDU's data, it is not possible to completely restore the membership data to date, so that a legal invitation to the nominations is currently not possible," reports Der Spiegel.
