Google recently started rolling out Chrome 71 for macOS and other platforms, but among the many changes introduced, there was no dark mode for macOS Mojave. That's coming in early 2019, if the latest code submission on Chromium's development channel is anything to go by.

How to enable dark mode on all websites on Chrome (Mac and Windows)

Some users on Reddit have discovered a code change by a Google developer regarding Chrome's native dark mode support on macOS Mojave. The changes have reportedly been approved, meaning dark mode support will be rolling out via the stable channel soon. Image with permission; MacRumors

The code submission hints at a system-wide implementation indicating that users will see a black background on the start and search page as well as the shortcut interface. The dark mode will also add a darker shade to the tabs, dialogs, menus, bookmarks bar, and status bar among other UI elements.

However, the dark color scheme of Chrome's incognito mode is reportedly creating a problem when it comes to implementing macOS Mojave's dark mode in the browser. So, developers are currently working on separating the incognito mode look from the dark mode theme.
