Ground Pokemon: Strength, Weakness and Resistance

HomeGames, Guides, How toGround Pokemon: Strength, Weakness and Resistance

Like Normal Pokemon, Ground is one of the many Pokemon elements in the games. Just like any other element type, Grounded Pokémon have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are a new player jumping into Pokemon and have some Ground Pokemon in your team, this one is for you. So with that, let's start talking about Ground Pokemon and their weaknesses, strengths, and resistances.

Easy ways to remember Pokemon Type Chart

One of the best things about using a Ground Pokemon over other elements is how much variety it covers when they need to be strong. If you have a pretty good ground type yourself, like Onyx, you're in luck. Onyx will perform exceptionally well against other Pokémon of Rock, Fire, Electric, Poison, and Steel.

If a Pokemon with a mix of two mentioned elements tries to fight your Rock Pokemon, it will deal more damage. Therefore, always try to summon your Pokemon when you see monsters belonging to the above elements coming to battle with you.

Similarly, your Onyx won't do well in terms of attacks when fighting a Paras or any monster with a mix of Bug and Grass. While they will be able to attack and even take out Pokémon with these traits, they won't be able to deal impressive damage through their specials. Therefore, avoid using your Onyx against such Pokémon.
