X-Men: Apocalypse was one of the worst movies to come out of the Fox X-Men Universe. It was a huge downgrade, especially after the critically acclaimed films, X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the film provided fans with something that could easily be described as the best yet. Cyclops' comically accurate costume in one scene in the film was better than any previous film.
Fans are hoping that the MCU can now use this very suit if they intend to bring back James Marsden for Cyclops. The Fox X-Men universe was initially against any sort of comic-accurate costume but later came up with the blue and yellow costume for the mutants in the James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender version.
In the original X-Men trilogy, all mutants including James Marsden's Cyclops wore black leather suits. These were intended as protective bodysuits for when the X-Men went into battle. But when the younger version of Cyclops, played by Tye Sheridan, appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse, he used a fan-favorite version of the suit.
