The House of the Dragon season 2 finale wasn't the only exciting thing from the Game of Thrones series on Sunday. Max released the first teaser for the new spinoff series from the franchise, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The new series based on George RR Martin's books is coming next year. But fans are largely skeptical of the new show.

Martin was in talks with HBO for a possible adaptation of his Tales of Dunk and Egg short stories as far back as 2013. He pitched the idea to the studio in 2016 only to be rejected. Fans learned about the project when rumors of the plan were reported in early 2021.

Fans got a glimpse of the upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, on Sunday. The new series will feature Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Aegon V Targaryen. The duo are known as Dunk and Egg in George RR Martin's story.
