Before the fiery battle of the dragons began, there was an important conversation between the brothers Aegon and Aemond in Valyrian. Aegon confronted Aemond about how he could plan something with Ser Criston without consulting him first. Aemond taunted his brother for playing the part of the king so badly and so decided to take the matter into his own hands. Thus, Aemond's desire to take over and play the "Game of Thrones" could be clearly felt in this scene.

After being belittled by his own brother and mother, Aegon reverts to his old plan, which was to fight valiantly on the front lines with his dragon. Thus he took his golden dragon, Sunfyre, and flew to the castle of Rook's Rest, where he would eventually meet his brother Aemond.
