It’s supported by donations really. From what I’ve heard, the library is at least 80TB of documents, and there are mirrors of it hosted by other people as well. Last I checked their bitcoin wallet had a sum of donations worth over a million $USD. That was over time, I don’t recall what the current amount was/is.
