Insert a writable DVD disc into your Mac. Select your newly created Disk Image from the list on the left of the Disk Utility window. Click on “Burn” in the Disk Utility main window. Select your burn speed and whether you would like to Verify Burned Data.

1. Download and install Burn on your Mac, run it.
2. Click Video tab and enter a DVD name.
3. Use the + icon in the bottom left side to add your iMovie project to the program window.
4. Click the file type drop-down menu to the right side, then select DVD-Video from the list.
5. Click Burn to begin iMovie burning to DVD.

To make a DVD out of video footage from iMovie, you need to open your iMovie project in another Mac program called iDVD. Once your iMovie file is in iDVD, you can customize your DVD menu(s) and burn your movie onto a DVD.

Burn CDs and DVDs on Mac

1. Insert a blank disc into your optical drive.
2. Double-click the disc to open its window, then drag the files and folders you want to burn to the window.
3. Arrange and rename the files.
4. Choose File > Burn [disc], then follow the instructions.

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Energy Saver. If a burned CD “stutters” when you play it in an external CD-RW drive, try playing it in an internal drive or a stereo system. If your CD burn is unsuccessful and your external drive becomes unresponsive, turn the drive off and on to reset it.

Double-click the videos to bring up the “Properties”, which let you change the “Action” and “Look” of your videos. Choose a template for the DVD menu or upload other background picture. Click on the burn icon to start DVD authoring on Mac.

2. Burn the Disk Image to a New DVD

1. 2.1 Right Click on the Newly-Mounted DVD Image. Select Burn from the contextual menu.

1. Insert your DVD into the drive. HandBrake should automatically open.
2. Make any adjustments to the file as you need within HandBrake.
3. Select Start and HandBrake will begin the burning process.

You can create a burn folder to collect files you want to burn onto a CD or DVD. Burn folders are useful for burning several copies of a folder or for regularly backing up a set of files by burning them to discs.

To write files to a CD or DVD:

1. Place an empty disc into your CD/DVD writable drive.
2. In the Blank CD/DVD-R Disc notification that pops up at the bottom of the screen, select Open with CD/DVD Creator.
3. In the Disc Name field, type a name for the disc.
4. Drag or copy the desired files into the window.
5. Click Write to Disc.

Quit iPhoto and open Finder. Make sure you have a CD or DVD in your burner and drag the folder with the photos you exported onto the disc icon. After the files have been copied, choose File→Burn Disk and then click Burn.
