Centering Information in Table Cells

1. Right-click on the cell containing the information you want to vertically center. This displays a Context menu for the cell.
2. Choose the Alignment (Word 97) or Cell Alignment (Word 2000 or later) option from the Context menu.
3. Choose the Center Vertically option.

Select the text that you want to center, and then click Paragraph on the Format menu. On the Indents and Spacing tab, change the setting in the Alignment box to Centered, and then click OK.

In the Page Setup dialog box, choose the Layout tab. In the Page section, select the Vertical alignment drop-down arrow and choose an alignment. In the Preview section, select the Apply to drop-down arrow and choose Selected text. Select OK to apply the alignment to the selected text.

Center the text vertically between the top and bottom margins

1. Select the text that you want to center.
2. On the Layout or Page Layout tab, click the Dialog Box Launcher.
3. In the Vertical alignment box, click Center.
4. In the Apply to box, click Selected text, and then click OK.

All you need to do is position the insertion point somewhere within the text and then click on the Center button on the Home tab of the ribbon or press Ctrl+E. Centering text vertically is almost as easy: Position the insertion point within the cell you want to vertically center.

Open the Word document in which you want to vertically align the text.

Look at the toolbar at the top of the Word window (the space with all the options). Next, look under the “Paragraph” header, which is below “Home” and to the right. Click the button with the text aligned in the center.

Select the cells that have the text you want aligned.

You can insert a vertical text box, rotate an existing text box, or stack text vertically within a text box. Click Insert > Text Box > Vertical Text Box. Type text in the vertical text box. The text will fill the box vertically.
