To change the color of hyperlink text, click Hyperlink, and then click More Colors. To change the color of the followed hyperlink text, click Followed Hyperlink, and then click More Colors.

Go to the Design tab, then open up the Variants gallery, click Colors – Customize Colors. The Create New Theme Colors dialog box will be displayed. From the Followed Hyperlink dropdown, select the same colour as for Hyperlink. Click Save.

Press Ctrl+K. You can also right-click the text or picture and click Link on the shortcut menu. In the Insert Hyperlink box, type or paste your link in the Address box. Note: If you don’t see the Address box, make sure Existing File or Web Page is selected under Link to.

Most likely problems with opening hyperlinks are connected with either the security restrictions of your Internet browser that doesn’t allow opening pop-up windows, or with your Flash player plug-in that prevents you from opening URLs in local Flash files.

Inserting action buttons. Another tool you can use to connect to a webpage, file, email address, or slide is called an action button, or action link. Action buttons are built-in button shapes you can add to a presentation and use as hyperlinks. When someone clicks or moves over the button, the action can occur.

Actions and Hyperlinks can play sound and run programs. Actions and Hyperlinks can link to similar types of locations. Actions can be triggered by mouse-overs.

Instead of squishing all the relevant text onto a single screen, you can use hyperlinks to add important content to new slides. That means folks can click on a button, a picture, or text, for instance, to be taken directly to the additional information they need.

Hyperlinks are often used to implement reference mechanisms such as tables of contents, footnotes, bibliographies, indexes, letters and glossaries. In some hypertext, hyperlinks can be bidirectional: they can be followed in two directions, so both ends act as anchors and as targets.

There are four types of hyperlinks. Text hyperlink – Uses a word or phrase to take visitors to another page, file or document. Image hyperlink – Uses an image to take visitors to another page, file or document. Bookmark hyperlink – Uses text or an image to take visitors to another part of a web page.
