Use the Fill Handle Select the cell that contains the first date. Drag the fill handle across the adjacent cells that you want to fill with sequential dates. at the lower-right corner of the cell, hold down, and drag to fill the rest of the series. Fill handles can be dragged up, down, or across a spreadsheet.

Work-around:

1. Select the source cell and press Ctrl + C.
2. Select the destination cell.
3. Click Home tab > Paste > Paste Special.
4. In the Paste Special dialog box, tick the Values radio button.

Copy cell formatting

1. Select the cell with the formatting you want to copy.
2. Select Home > Format Painter.
3. Drag to select the cell or range you want to apply the formatting to.
4. Release the mouse button and the formatting should now be applied.

How to Paste Dates Into Excel

1. Click the cell into which you want to paste the date.
2. Press “Ctrl-1” on your keyboard to load the Format Cells dialog.
3. Copy the date from its source location or application.
4. Click the cell into which you want to paste the date.

In your Excel worksheet, format the dates exactly as you want the text strings to look like. Select all of the dates you want to convert and press Ctrl+C to copy them. Open Notepad or any other text editor, and paste the copied dates there. Notepad automatically converts the dates to the text format.

By default, Word preserves the original formatting when you paste content into a document using CTRL+V, the Paste button, or right-click + Paste. To change the default, follow these steps. Go to File > Options > Advanced. Under Cut, copy, and paste, select the down arrow for the setting to change .

How to copy format easy and quickly

1. Select the text with the formatting to copy.
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+C to copy the formatting of the selected text.
3. Select the text to which you want to apply the copied formatting.
4. Press Ctrl+Shift+V to apply the formatting to the selected text.

Using Copy and Paste for Formatting

1. Select the cell or cells whose format you wish to copy.
2. Press Ctrl+C or press Ctrl+Insert.
3. Select the cell or cell range into which you want the formats pasted.
4. Choose Paste Special from the Edit menu.
5. Choose the Formats radio button.
6. Click on OK.

If you hit Alt , E , S , V , Enter it will past the values. (hit keys in sequence, don’t hold down the Alt key.) Alt , E , S will open the paste special dialog box, V will select Values and then Enter will make it happen. This works well for anything copied from excel.

Ctrl+D to Copy Down Dates. After double-clicking the fill handle, press Ctrl+D to copy the date down. Ctrl+D is the keyboard shortcut to copy down the value/formula in the selected range. The value in the active cell (usually the first cell in the selected range) is copied down with Ctrl+D.

Select the cell or cells in which you want to type dates. This method works best when you have a large amount of dates to enter. Press “Ctrl-1” to open the Format Cells dialog window. Click the “Number” tab, select “Text” from the list of available formats, and then click “OK.”. Type the dates into the cells.

To convert a text date in a cell to a serial number, use the DATEVALUE function. Then copy the formula, select the cells that contain the text dates, and use Paste Special to apply a date format to them. Follow these steps: Select a blank cell and verify that its number format is General.
