1. Remove the batteries and wait a few minutes.
2. Try pressing and holding the Menu, Function, Function Set, or OK while turning on the camera, or otherwise find a “factory reset” option.
3. Try turning the camera on without a memory card inserted.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it’s sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera’s been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

I recommend performing a “hard reset” of your camera. To do this, remove the battery pack from the camera then close the battery compartment. Now press and hold down the power button for 5 seconds, then release it. Replace the fully charged battery pack and turn the camera on.

FZ43. The FZ43 lens is probably jammed or some foreign object(s), dust, dirt, etc., is preventing the lens from functioning properly. Simply power the FZ43 off and restart it to reset the lens.

You can take your lens to the authorized company dealer to ask for repairs if possible. In some cases the damage is so much that repairs are not possible and the only solution you have is to replace it altogether.

You are experiencing a common error. Normally this is a problem with the lens extension mechanism that is activated when the camera starts. This can normally be attributed to a dirty camera case or other grit getting into the camera mechanism. Other possible sources are physical jarring during operation or low battery during operation.
