1. Open the Sound Recorder application in the following location: Start>All Programs>Accessories>Sound Recorder.
2. Click Start Recording to begin recording.
3. Click Stop Recording to stop recording.
4. Choose a filename and destination in the window that pops up.
5. Click Save.

Recording your own voice

1. Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar.
2. Select Open sound settings.
3. Choose Sound control panel on the right.
4. Select the Recording tab.
5. Choose the microphone. Source: Windows Central.
6. Hit Set as default.
7. Open the Properties window. Source: Windows Central.
8. Select the Levels tab.

Thankfully, Windows 10 comes with an easy solution. Open up the Sound Control Panel again, go to the “Recording” tab, and select “Properties”. In the “Listen” tab is a checkbox called “Listen to this device”. When you check it, you can now choose your speakers or headphones and listen to all the audio as you record it.

To record audio on Windows 10, make sure the microphone is connected (if applicable), and use these steps:

1. Open Start.
2. Search for Video Recorder, and click the top result to open the app.
3. Click the Record button.
4. (Optional) Click the Flag button to add a marker to the recording.

If your microphone isn’t detected after updating Windows 10, you may need to give your apps permission to use it. To let apps access the microphone, select Start ,then select Settings > Privacy > Microphone . Select Change, then turn on Allow apps to access your microphone.

1. Right click on the “Sound icon” on the bottom right of the desktop screen.
2. Click on “Sounds”, click on “Recording”
3. Right click on “Microphone” and then click on “Set as default device”
4. Click on “Apply” and then “OK”

Download and install the program. Download MP3 Recorder Studio to a known location. Run the setup program and follow its instructions.

1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the System icon. 2. Click/tap on Sound on the left side, and click/tap on the Manage sound devices link under Input on the right side. 3. Click/tap on your microphone device under Input devices, and click/tap on the Enable (default) or Disable button.
