Hard Reset APPLE iPod Nano 6th Generation

1. Begin by connecting your iPod to the PC and openning iTunes.

1. Make sure that your iPod has a battery charge.
2. Reset your iPod. For iPod nano (7th generation), press the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo.

Force your iPod to restart, by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and the Home button. Keep doing this for at least 10 seconds, and don’t release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep pressing and holding until you see the recovery mode screen.

I have the same problem. itunes says “ok to disconnect” but ipod is FROZEN on “Do not Disconnect”. This started happening last year out of nowhere.

it has a do not disconnect on it because your iPod is trying to talk to the computer. If you disconnect it without first removing it from the computers desktop you can corrupt both the iPod and the computer.
