In a group session, everyone invited can control what plays.

1. Open Spotify and play something.
2. Tap at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap START SESSION under Start a Group Session.
4. Tap INVITE FRIENDS. Here you can: Share with any social or messaging app listed. Choose Copy Link to send your own way.

The Zoom listening party is just one part of a series of cool projects that they’ve been doing including live streams on instagram where they play stripped-down versions of their own songs and covers of songs they love, inviting other artists into the streams with them to do the same.

Fans would stream or play the album in real time on their own, while the actual musicians involved in the making of that recording would live tweet stories and anecdotes behind the songs.

Sharing audio with shared content

1. Start or join a Zoom meeting.
2. Click on Share Screen on the meeting toolbar.
3. Select the program or desktop you wish to share.
4. Select Share Sound in the bottom-left corner of the share selection window.

How to play music over your Live Stream on Zoom

1. Step 1: When you join your meeting before the customers attend, click on the “share” button at the bottom of the page.
2. Step 2: Click on the “advanced” option tab at the top of the screen.
3. Step 3: Click on the middle option, “Music or Computer Sound Only”.

To get started, open the Spotify app on your computer or phone and play any song. Then, go to the music party server in the Discord app. When you see a green play icon on the plus button, you’re ready to start the listening party. Click the plus button and choose the option to invite the channel to listen to Spotify.

A “listening party” is just a gathering of likeminded music-heads where a new album, single, or music video is premiered and enjoyed.

Group Sessions allow Premium users to listen to music or podcasts simultaneously with up to five friends who also have premium accounts, no matter where they are in the world. All users in a group session can pause, play, skip, and queue music.

Have ample seating on hand, offer refreshments (everyone loves free beer and/or pizza), and have some mood lighting to ease the tension. In addition to bloggers, reporters and other musicians in the local scene who you admire, make sure your real life friends are there, too.

Attendees of a album listening are often present for different reasons and have varied experiences with the artist they came to support. As the host, it is your role to do whatever you feel necessary to keep things from getting too awkward among the room full of semi-strangers.
