Playing 4BBB With 2-Person Teams And for each team, on each hole, the one low ball – the better score between the two partners – counts as that team’s score. If Golfer A and Golfer B make up Team 1, and on the first hole A scores 5 and B scores 4, 4 is the team score on Hole 1.

For those who are not aware, a 4-man scramble is a golf format where four players form a team and all contribute to the score of the whole rather than the score of each individual/themselves. This type of game is usually reserved for large scale tournaments for charity, company games, etc.

Four Ball Better-Ball (4BBB) – Four Ball is a match between two teams of two players (a total of four balls being played, hence the name) against each other using better-ball scoring. For example, Players A and B form one team. On the first hole, A scores a 5, B scores a 6, so the team score is 5.

VPAR, as you may have worked out, is the much talked about live scoring system which provides golfers with a real-time leaderboard. Players know exactly where they stand at any point during the round while friends and family can keep track too, either in the clubhouse or live online.

Competitions – Four Ball Handicapping Print Handicapping of a 4BBB event using singles card and/or singles entry will not correctly calculate scores for handicapping. An in-conjunction singles event should be sent for handicapping if both players are completing all holes.

In a “Scramble” format the players or designated team captain decide after each shot which one the best shot is. In a “Best Ball” format, each player plays their own ball throughout each hole. The team’s score for the hole is the lowest score shot by a single team member on that hole.

ABCD format – refers to a 4 person team grouping (assigned by the tournament committee) where the A player has the lowest handicap in the grouping, while the D player has the highest. Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball through out the round.

A Medley Competition is a competition in which both men and women may compete. The winner is determined by the best net score returned, irrespective of gender. Male players play from the Male Competition Tees. Female players play from the Female Competition Tees. Handicaps shall be as per Club Handicap.

The cost of an annual subscription is $8.95.

The 85% handicap allowance results in a 17-stroke difference between partners for Team 1 and a 16-stroke difference between partners for Team 2. This is approximately 85% of the difference between the Course Handicaps, and maintains relative equity.

Rules for 18 hole – 3 Person Rumble.  Scoring is by Stableford.  On the first 6 holes (1-6), the best single score for these holes is recorded in the appropriate columns (A,B,C,D).  On the next six holes (7-12), the best two scores are recorded in the appropriate columns.

Irish Rumble. This is a 4-person Irish Rumble, a Best Ball format played with Stableford points, where on the first 6 holes (1-6), the best single score for these holes is recorded, on the next six holes (7-12), the best two scores are recorded, on the next five holes (13-17), the best three scores are recorded and on the last hole (18) all

The opponent gets no penalty in his or her match with the other player. Otherwise, all other Rules of Golf apply. These are the only variances for three ball. When playing three ball, be careful not to pick up your ball after one opponent concedes a hole or a putt. Remember: You’re playing two matches simultaneously.

We’ll call you golfers A, B and C. You play as a group of three, each playing your own golf ball, and score at match play. Again, each golfer in your group is playing two matches simultaneously, one against each of the other two members of the group.
