Lighting design in theatre goes beyond simply making sure that the audience can see the stage (although this is very important!). I would rather work with lighting for a theatrical production over a film because for theatrical productions there’s more options for lighting in many areas, such as lighting and special effects. For film, it would most likely be just lighting a set so you can see the actors and not much else.

Using a light bulb with too high of wattage can lead to overheating of the light bulb. This heat can melt the light socket as well as the insulation of the wires. Once that happens, you put yourself at risk of arc faults, and this is something that could even lead to property fires.
