The Eucharist has formed a central rite of Christian worship. All Christians would agree that it is a memorial action in which, by eating bread and drinking wine (or, for some Protestants, grape juice or water), the church recalls what Jesus Christ was, said, and did.

Sacraments. Unlike other Christian churches the Salvation Army does not recognise any sacraments, such as baptism or communion, as essential. The Army does not teach that sacraments are wrong, but it believes that they are unnecessary, and may be unhelpful to some.

Fewer still are aware that the Salvation Army, for most of its history, avoided Communion, also called the Eucharist or Lord’s Supper, and baptisms on the grounds that those outward symbols of Christian faith were unnecessary and might substitute for a fully lived life of faith and love.

Local corps usually sing contemporary worship music songs in Sunday worship services, as well as traditional hymns and music accompanied by the brass band. These are usually from the official Songbook of the Salvation Army. They sometimes use Christian songs in the popular music genre.

Due to recalls or government rules on re-selling, there are certain things The Salvation Army donation center won’t accept, such as particle board furniture, metal desks, TV armoires, and baby items (such as high chairs and car seats). Don’t sweat it, though. You can use an app to sell those things.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has by His suffering and death made an atonement for the whole world so that whosoever will may be saved. We believe that repentance toward God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary to salvation.

Eternal security, also known as “once saved, always saved”, is the belief that from the moment anyone becomes a Christian, they will be saved from hell, and will not lose salvation.

The ranks are lieutenant, captain, major, lieutenant colonel, colonel and commissioner. The international leader holds the rank of general and is selected by a high council of active-duty commissioner and territorial commanders. Salvation Army officers must devote full time to Army work.

82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army goes toward program services. The average charity spends 75 percent of their budget on programs, while the remaining money goes to cover overhead costs like fundraising, Sandra Miniutti, with Charity Navigator, told NBC News.
