Q. How do you put transmission fluid in a Ford f350?
Insert the tip of the transmission funnel into the tube. Add half a quart of transmission fluid. Wait a moment to allow the transmission fluid to drain down the tube, then repeat step 3. Repeat until the dipstick is continuously covered with transmission fluid up to the middle hole.

Q. What ATF is compatible with Mercon V?
MaxLife ATF can be used where a MERCON V* fluid is recommended. *Ford and MERCON V are registered trademarks of Ford Motor Company.
Q. Is Mercon V the same as ATF?
Mercon V—the most common Ford ATF in late model Fords, it is very much like Dexron III. Should not be used in a transmission requiring Ford Type F. Mercon LV—the latest Ford ATF, it is factory fill in 2008 and later Fords. The LV stands for “low viscosity.” It is a fully synthetic ATF.
Q. Can you mix Mercon ATF and Mercon V?
There are now newer fluids that say Mercon V or VI / Mercon compatible. When Ford said NOT to mix Mercon V with Mercon, it meant that if you have Mercon in the tranny, that you should not use a fluid marked Mercon V alone.
Q. Can you mix mercon and dexron?
Can you mix mercon and dexron? It is not compatible with earlier Mercon fluids, so it should neither be mixed with Mercon or Mercon V used to replace those fluids. It is not compatible with any other fluid, either.
