Hz stands for hertzs and W*s stands for watt-seconds. The formula used in hertzs to watt-seconds conversion is 1 Hertz = 6.62606957030801E-34 Watt-Second. In other words, 1 hertz is 1.509190311676E+33 times smaller than a watt-second.

The 60 HZ number means that the current alternates at a rate of 60 times per second. Using the information on the microwave label, the wattage is equal to Voltage x Current = Wattage.

50Hz (60Hz) means the rotor of the motor generator turns 50 (60) cycles per second, the current changes 50 (60) times per second back and forth, direction changes 100 (120) times. That means the Volt changes from positive to negative, and from negative to positive voltage, this process converts 50 (60) times/second.

Tesla chose 60Hz because it was an overtone of the so called Schumann resonance; the specific overtone being chosen as one with a useful frequency for application to rotating AC machinery. Precedence dictates it would more aptly be named the Tesla resonance.

It will run with following problems for a 50Hz motor running on 60Hz: The core loss will increase and cause over heating of core. As the core loss will increase, the Power Factor of motor will reduce. The motor speed will be higher, so shaft load will increase.

The use of 50 versus 60 Hz is purely due to historical reasons, with companies in the US making 60 Hz equipment and those in Europe making 50Hz equipment so that they have a monopoly. This rivalry led to the split you see today.

Most countries use 50Hz (50 Hertz or 50 cycles per second) as their AC frequency. Only a handful use 60Hz. The standard in the United States is 120V and 60Hz AC electricity….Listing per country.

If it says 220 V 50/60 Hz, then it’s probably safe to use it in the US. If it says 220 V 50 Hz, it’s more uncertain. Many components should work fine, but perhaps some may overheat, not work, or run at the wrong speed.

50Hz or 100Hz for gaming? For gaming, it doesn’t matter whether your choose a 50Hz or 100Hz TV because current consoles aren’t able to display images in 100Hz. Yet, there is a chance that a 100Hz TV needs a little more time to create extra frames.

Which is better, 1080p 50Hz or 60Hz? There is no noticeable difference between the two for most types of videos we watch and it depends on the country’s TV standard which rate is available however 60Hz does have a slight advantage over 50Hz when showing very fast motion such as a baseball in the air.

Higher refresh rates mean more updates and, presumably, smoother motion. All TVs must have a refresh rate of at least 60Hz, since that’s what the broadcast standard. However, you’ll see 4K TVs with “effective refresh rates” of 120Hz, 240Hz, or higher.

A high refresh rate 1080p monitor will look smoother and feel more responsive than a 60Hz 4K monitor, but the latter will look crisper and more detailed. Choosing between the two is entirely up to your preference and games.

Today’s 4K TVs are all marketed with “motion,” “action” and “clear” numbers from 60 to 240 and higher. They’re mostly made up. Many midrange TVs like this 60Hz Vizio M-Series Quantum are marketed with higher refresh rate numbers.
