While the Minecraft 1.21 update may not have introduced many groundbreaking features, it brought the two editions even closer. How, you might wonder? If you don't already have a Minecraft lead and a Minecraft boat ready, you can follow our two linked guides that explain how to create them. With that out of the way, let's now see how you can attach a wire to a boat.

Well, it's pretty simple. Select the wire on your hotbar and use it on a boat (right click or use the secondary action button). It can be an empty boat or with a few passengers inside. You'll see that it attaches to a boat, just like it would with many other units in the game. You can now move around and the attached boat will follow you.

But unlike Minecraft mobs, the boat can't go up a block, because the wire will just break. So you can just guide it easily at the same Y level or when going downhill. Unfortunately, this also applies to blocks that are only slightly shorter than full blocks, such as road blocks.
