How to Beat Godfrey, First Elden Lord (Elden Ring Guide)
The capital of the Elden Ring, Leyndell, is one of the most dense and labyrinthine environments ever to grace a Soulsborne game and it is home to Godfrey, the first Elden lord. If you followed our Draconic Tree Sentinel boss guide, you should be able to get through the front door without any problems. But now that you've reached the heights of the city, it's time for your first encounter with Godfrey. The fight with Godfrey after climbing Leyndell's tree roots won't be your last encounter with the First Elden Lord, and is really just a warm-up for the boss fight that will follow soon after. Still, the Golden Shade of Godfrey can hinder even experienced Souls players with unpredictable combos and a hard-to-avoid trample attack.
