Apple released new developer previews of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia that bring a new "Distraction Control" feature to Safari. It's a brand new add-on that allows you to hide certain banners, cookie settings pop-ups, ads and other distracting web pages while browsing. You can even hide some autoplay videos. iOS 18 Beta 5: New Distraction Control Feature is AWESOME!

Note: The Distraction Control feature is only available in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia Developer Beta 5. Since the feature is in beta, it may have some bugs.

The new distraction control feature allows you to hide all static elements on a web page. You can enable this feature in the side menu of Safari. Here are the steps to hide ads in Safari with iOS 18 Distraction Control feature:

When you enable Distraction Control on a particular web page, you'll see a small blue indicator in the address bar. This tells you that the feature is working on that page. To show the items, tap this blue indicator (or the side menu) and select Show hidden items.
