There is a common problem that iPhone users face and that is the fact that the camera roll has an All Photos album that contains all of your recent photos. The All Photos album is where everything you've ever taken or saved is saved to. Then from here you can put them in separate albums.

How to Organize Photos on iPhone by Sorting Photo Albums into Folders (iOS 16)

With the All Photos album, anything you remove from here will be deleted absolutely everywhere – it will be removed from the album you've decided to put that photo or video into.

Unfortunately with all the iOS updates that have been released, you still can't remove a photo from the All Photos folder in your camera roll and still keep it in a new album. The All Photos album is the main folder in which all photos are saved, so when something is deleted from there, it will be deleted from all albums on your camera roll.

You should see other albums and an extension and sort folder for everything in the All Photos album, not see them as a separate drive containing photos. This is because anything saved on your iPhone will first be stored in the All Photos folder, so removing it from there will delete it from any albums you've sorted it into.
