Twitter initially offered the ability to quickly switch between the algorithmic feed and the latest feed of tweets. But in early 2023, Twitter rolled out a TikTok-style "For You" tab pinned next to the "Following" tab at the top. And yes, there is no built-in option to disable the "For You" tab on Twitter. But now the users are running around; looking for ways to remove the "For You" tab on Twitter.

Recently, this need has turned into an urgent light in light of Elon Musk's tweet. According to Musk's tweet, "Starting April 15, only [Twitter Blue] verified accounts will be eligible to be featured in For You recommendations." This means that the recommended tweets based on likes or interests will now only include results from verified accounts. This move has users concerned about the quality of tweets on the "For You" tab, including me. So I searched around and found a way to get the "For You" tab gone forever. So, without wasting any more time, let's check out how to disable Twitter 'For You' tab on web, Android and iOS.

The ability to remove the "For You" tab has been made possible by the amazing developer Jonathan Buchanan. He created the Control Panel browser extension for Twitter, which has been available for quite some time now. Its primary purpose is to provide detailed controls to users and add (or remove) features and bring UI improvements to Twitter.

The Twitter Control Panel is a browser extension available for Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. You can install the extension on most Chromium-based browsers such as Opera, Brave and others. For Safari users, you'll need to download the Twitter Control Panel app from the Mac App Store for $5.99.
