Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade your gourd on your own in Black Myth Wukong. To upgrade your gourd, you must meet an NPC named Shen Monkey. You'll meet him eventually in the middle of Chapter 1. Here's how you'll meet him:

Shen Monkey, the friendly NPC, will help you upgrade the many aspects of your gourd. Here's how you can fully utilize the services offered by Shen Monkey:

First, to upgrade your gourd and increase the number of times you can consume it, you need a special item called "Luojia Fragrant Vine." Similar to the other rare resources, this item is also equally spread throughout the game. As soon as you find one, go back to Shen Monkey and select the "Upgrade Gourds" option to increase the total consumption of gourds.
