The first film in the Twilight Saga begins with Bella moving in with her father, the chief of police in a small town on the Olympic Peninsula. Her mother had been married to another guy, and his job required them to be on the go. Bella quickly befriends some schoolmates, including Jacob, an American teenager who lives with his father. Everything seems boring to Bella in the new place except the Cullen siblings. Their behavior arouses her suspicions. Soon, Edward reveals his powers to Bella, and after much struggle, she deduces that he is a vampire. The rest of the movie is about Bella meeting Edward's family, them falling in love, another vampire family trying to kill Bella, and the Cullen family protecting her.
