That's the gist of a Thursday post by chief supply chain officer Ernest Nicolas, titled "Transforming and Optimizing Supply Chains."

Register buffs HP Inc. decided to share its views on supply chains after Japanese outlet Nikkei previously reported that the consumer division of HP wants to "move more than half of its PC production out of China … in an effort to reduce geopolitical risks around China and Taiwan ." The report also claims that HP Inc. will establish a design hub in Singapore as a backup to its Taiwanese facilities.

Nicola's post confirms that geopolitical risk is something that HP Inc. is considering – as is appropriate for any multinational organization.
