Chris Pine took on the iconic role of Captain Kirk in JJ Abrams' 2009 film Star Trek. This was the reboot of the original series created under the vision of Gene Roddenberry. Pine's performance was so highly praised by the public that he returned to the character for Star Trek Beyond (2016) and Into Darkness (2013). About eight years ago, a follow-up film was commissioned in response to its immense popularity.

But there is still little or no knowledge about its development. On this topic, Chris Pine answered some questions in a previous interview that also addressed a significant Star Trek issue. This particular issue could be a solid justification for Pine to refrain from reprising his legendary Captain Kirk role in Star Trek 4.

In Hollywood, every aspect of film, from writers and directors to actors, has a distinctive role to play. If a writer presents a script, it is the duty of the director to put in his vision and the actor to perform the role to the best of his ability. But the same was missing in Star Trek 4, where Chris Pine had no idea about the alleged project.
