Goku, Akira Toriyama's iconic character is not the "good guy" he seems most of the time. Goku is known for his fighting spirit, endless energy and appetite for battle. A closer look at his actions may question his noble side. The feeling that he may not be a virtuous hero has taken hold among fans, sparking debate about his true nature and motives.
It has even led some fans to claim that Goku is indeed the true villain. What is shown, exactly, in Zeno Expo, is the result of Goku choosing that his obsession with fighting the strongest outweighed the cost of millions upon millions of lives.
The central issue arose from the battle with Bergamo. Grand Zeno, the supreme ruler of all universes, decided to hold a multiverse tournament where the losing universes would be erased from existence. Bergamo of Universe 9 foresaw his chance to save his universe and the others.
