The controversy that erupted when it was revealed that Assassin's Creed Shadows would have Yasuke as the protagonist was unimaginably great, due to the fact that he is an African man.
Since then, people have tirelessly debated whether or not his inclusion in the game is historically accurate. The Shadows character is based on a real historical figure, but people can't seem to tell if he was a samurai. One fan thinks this debate is completely irrelevant.
The internet broke into a frenzy when they discovered that Yasuke was a main character. Many preferred it to be a man of Japanese descent, accusing Ubisoft of throwing away historical accuracy in favor of making things "woke".
