Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami reacts to the studio's closure

Heartbreaking news hit the gaming world with a sudden blow when Xbox shut down its only Japanese first-party studio, Tango Gameworks. The decision came after the resignation of its founder, Shinji Mikami, who was equally shocked.

Mikami has been the mastermind behind the highly acclaimed franchise, Resident Evil. He worked as a studio head for Tango Gameworks for 14 years before deciding to leave it all behind.

Mikami thought he didn't abandon the studio when it needed him the most, as the studio had just delivered a super hit cartoon rhythm action game, Hi-Fi Rush, last year. The studio looked to a bright future with many more Hi-Fi Rush games on the way.
