But he alone could not have made the most brilliant plot ever. He was aided by two other Gotei 13 captains, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen. While Kaname Tosen always wanted revenge on Soul Society, Ichimaru had a different motive.

The majority of fans see him as an antagonist, but he showed signs of goodness when he tried to save Rangiku Matsumoto. Due to his nature, Tite Kubo wanted to give him a scary look. But it all backfired on the mangaka when he saw the creepiness attracted countless female followers.

But it turned out to be the mangaka's biggest mistake as he would suffer from it. During an interview he said,
