The gaming community is convinced that a remake of the original God of War trilogy is imminent.

God of War is one of the more notable first-party franchises operating under the PlayStation Studios umbrella and has been revamped for the better in the current generation. The original trilogy featured the gods of Olympus imposing their will and forcing Kratos to serve them until he had enough and rebelled to take control of his destiny. The franchise was known for its hack-and-slash gameplay and delving into Greek mythology, and the gaming community thinks it should be remade using the same technology used in the Norse saga.
After the latest Valhalla expansion, the developers redid all the legacy assets from the original trilogy. It wouldn't be a damn shame to see those efforts go to waste if the team decided not to continue with a remake trilogy.
The gaming community was vocal about their desire to see the redesigned character model of young Kratos in a full game. After seeing how the developers of Santa Monica Studio flawlessly brought back Helios in God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, among others, a remake is quite possible. Fans pointed out that the developers couldn't have gone through all this for a short DLC, and other projects could benefit from it.
