Brent Spiner revealed that the "Masks" episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation was so absurd that they couldn't get through the scenes.

Why the role of DATA gave BRENT SPINER anxiety early in his STAR TREK tenure

While Star Trek: The Next Generation became the most successful syndicated show for the franchise and introduced it to a whole new generation, some episodes didn't quite do well. While the seventh season finale had many great moments, one episode seemed to give the cast a rough time.

Brent Spiner, who played Data on the show, mentioned that his performance in the Season 7 episode Masks was ridiculous, driving the entire cast into hysterical laughter. The actor also mentioned that he and Patrick Stewart were unable to make it through the final scene of the episode, which upset many crew members.

Brent Spiner not even being nominated for an Emmy for his portrayal of Data and a host of other characters in Star Trek: The Next Generation is a travesty. The actor not only played one of the most beloved characters in the cast, but he also portrayed Data's evil twin Lore, his creator Dr. Noonien Soong and the entire Soong family.
