While Ewan McGregor is still known for his participation in the Prequel trilogy, the actor is no stranger to the realm of superheroes. Having already played Black Mask, arguably one of the best DCEU villains, in Birds of Prey, according to reports, the actor is once again being considered for another comic book role in James Gunn's DCU.

But before making his DC debut with Black Mask, the Revenge of the Sith star almost starred in the MCU as the Sorcerer Supreme.

While it's hard to imagine anyone other than Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange's shoes, before the Sherlock Holmes star was finalized for the gig, the Star Wars star was on his way. Speaking to MTV (via CinemaBland ), Ewan McGregor confirmed that he was one of the high-profile actors being eyed for the role of Doctor Strange.
