During their first chance to be together back in the season 1 finale, Chuck was at fault for running away. In the episode “Much ‘I Do’ About Nothing”, the two decided to spend the summer together and finally, officially, be a couple.

Dan once accuses Chuck of sending in the video of the two as he tries to help Blair think of the best escape route. It is later revealed that Dan was in fact the one who sent in the video that ruined her wedding. Chuck tells Blair that he will pay the dowry, he would do anything for her if it meant she could be free.
