Eiichiro Oda already has a boatload of plans after One Piece ends to make sure his imagination doesn't come to a standstill.

There are often times when mangakas publish one work after another to stand out and Eiichiro Oda wants to be among them. After creating a universe as large as One Pieces, taking things slowly and stepping aside would change the pace the manga is otherwise so used to.

For someone who thrives under pressure, the lack of stress that comes with working on a weekly serialized project would easily catch him off guard. To make sure nothing like this ever happens, there has to be a way to turn things around. With the series already nearing its final arc, that particular moment may be sooner rather than later.

During an interview with Manga Tengoku (via Oda Tengoku), Eiichiro Oda addressed how things would be when One Piece finally came to an end. For a series with decades in the making, the story still has a lot going for it. Despite being in its final saga, how long it would take for the manga to end is still as big a mystery as the truth about One Piece.
