The latest set of Intel Core 14th Gen processors is coming soon. The company has planned an event in December for the launch of the 14th generation Meteor Lake mobile chip. However, it looks like there will be more 14th generation chips for laptops, but they won't be based on the Meteor Lake architecture. The Intel Corre i7-14700HX was recently spotted on Geekbench, and it revealed that this is quite a capable chip. Here's everything you need to know.

Intel is Desperate: i7-14700K CPU Review, Benchmarks, Gaming, & Drive

First, you may be confused as to why there is an 'i' in the processor name. Intel announced the rebranding of processors a long time ago. There is a simple explanation – the i7-14700HX is unlikely to be based on the Meteor Lake architecture. So it looks like Intel plans to have both Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh-based processors in the 14th generation lineup. That's the best speculation we have at the moment, and more will soon be revealed by Intel officially.

With that out of the way, we will now discuss the i7-14700HX. This new processor has scored 17,475 points in the multi-core Geekbench 6 benchmark. That's a big performance boost over the last-gen i7–13700HX processor, which typically scores 13,000 to 14,000 points in the same test.

The new 14th generation i7 processor also comes with a higher number of cores, which is the main attribute that contributes to the increased performance of this new CPU.
