At the "Wonderlust" hardware launch event, Apple finally announced the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, along with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max variants. Many of the rumors ended up being true, such as Apple ditching the design and moving all iPhones towards the "dynamic island" design. Let's take a look at the details.

Apple presents the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus

The iPhone 15 has now received Dynamic Island on the base variants of the iPhone 15, which is a very welcome change. The previous generation iPhone 14 & 14 Plus had the notch style, which now looks quite dated compared to the brand new iPhone 15 & 15 Plus.

Dynamic Island makes the front design on all new iPhone 15 models. This new design feature will definitely attract many to upgrade to the latest iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, the latter also supports a better battery life. Both of these phones have Super Retina XDR displays that feature OLED panels, with the iPhone 15 having a 6.1-inch size and the iPhone 15 Plus having a larger 6.7-inch display. These come with up to 2000 nits of brightness. The refresh rate for non-pro iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models remains at 60Hz. The back of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now has a frosted design and is curved.

Speaking of performance, Apple has added the latest generation iPhone 14 Pro's SoC, the A16 Bionic. Just like the previous generation Pro model, the iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus also support Wi-Fi 6. Both iPhone 15 models have a Type-C port, a long-awaited change that EU laws forced Apple to adopt. One thing to note here is that this Type-C port is a USB 2.0 speed, which feels like crippling the device. On the Pro models, a better USB port is provided.
