Although it would be equidistant from its central star at all points, the Ringworld would not, in fact, be gravitationally stable. Any perturbing force from, say, a meteorite strike or a close encounter with another star could throw the Ringworld out of attractive equilibrium and onto on a cataclysmic collision course.

Noble Six HAD to die regarding the chronological integrity of the whole Halo storyline. That’s not true at all. Other Spartans, soldiers, and people made it off Reach and the canon is fine. Halsey, Buck, and Jun are the survivors that come quickest to mind.

Well in Halo 4 Cortana split off the rampant fragments of herself into the Didacts ship to run interference. These angry, depressed hate filled parts of her survived. But the ‘good’ part of her sacrificed herself to save the Master Chief from the nuclear explosion. That Cortana that we all knew and loved died.
