Generally pretty safe during the day. But just in general be cautious as you should be anywhere really, especially late at night (which doesn’t look like a problem for you given the hours). It’s all about street smarts, no matter which line you’re on late at night. “Safest” would probably be the Brown line. Red and Blue run 24/7, so you get homeless riding, but they are usually harmless. If you’re alone really late, sit in the very front car where the conductor is.
