Donkey Kong Country Returns has a level of difficulty that may cause forehead veins to throb in anger due to its many opportunities for death. But it’s certainly not impossible, for I was able to beat this Donkey Kong Country faster than any other I’ve played.

1. You get an orb after finishing a “K’ level. Each world has a “K” level that can be unlocked by getting the KONG letters in all the normal levels in that world.
2. In addition to hellspawnic’s answer, you use the orbs in 9-1, above the forest. You can unlock it by defeating Tiki Tong, the final boss.

Part of the reason for the difficulty is that levels are long and checkpoints are few and far between. That means if Donkey Kong dies, players will have to repeat an excruciatingly long section over and over again. If a particular stage, such as Reckless Ride, is tough, they’ll have to suffer through it.

The graphics are top notch and the sounds and the gameplay is really enjoyable. I choose to use the wii mote sideways instead of the wii/nunchuk configureation which bothers me. The levels are hard but not as hard as super mario bros wii. The game has, after you die ALOT, blue donkey kong does the level for you.

The way it seems to work for me is to select the save, then select 2 players. It comes up with a box that tells you to connect the second wii remote. While this is still on the screen, connect the second wii remote and you should be okay.
