Time travel is possible based on the laws of physics, according to new calculations from researchers at the University of Queensland. But time-travelers wouldn’t be able to alter the past in a measurable way, they say — the future would stay the same.

In general relativity, a white hole is a hypothetical region of spacetime and singularity which cannot be entered from the outside, although energy-matter, light and information can escape from it.

Schwarzschild wormholes and Schwarzschild black holes are different mathematical solutions of general relativity and the Einstein–Cartan theory. Instead, the collapsing matter reaches an enormous but finite density and rebounds, forming the other side of an Einstein-Rosen bridge, which grows as a new universe.

Black holes are generally defined as “a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out. The gravity is so strong because [the] matter has been squeezed into a tiny space.” – NASA. As light is unable to escape the hole’s gravity it appears completely black – hence the name.

Outer space is not completely empty—it is a hard vacuum containing a low density of particles, predominantly a plasma of hydrogen and helium, as well as electromagnetic radiation, magnetic fields, neutrinos, dust, and cosmic rays.
