A man may kiss his wife, joke with her and touch her without having intercourse when he is fasting. All of that is permissible and there is no sin in it, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to kiss (his wife) when he was fasting, and touch (his wife) when he was fasting.

Dr. Ali Ahmed Mashael: In Ramadan, it could stir desire and therefore, hugging and kissing is forbidden. Physical affection between a married couple during Ramadan corrupts the worship. A couple must refrain from doing this until after iftar.

During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating any food, drinking any liquids, smoking cigarettes, and engaging in any sexual activity, from dawn to sunset. That includes taking medication (even if you swallow a pill dry, without drinking any water).

One of many factors contributing to affect variability of menstrual cycle is dietary pattern. During the Ramadan fasting, all dietary pattern, sleep pattern, and daily activities will be altered and thus contributing to menstrual cycle.

A period is officially considered late if it’s been more than 30 days since the start of your last period. After six weeks without bleeding, you can consider your late period a missed period. Several things can delay your period, from basic lifestyle changes to chronic health conditions.

Results: We found 11.3%, 30%, and 16.3% of participates had abnormal menstrual pattern three months before, during and three months after Ramadan, respectively. In participates who fast more than 15 days, menstrual period had significantly more abnormality than participants who fast less than 15 days.

As one of the five pillars, or duties, of Islam, fasting during the month of Ramadan is mandatory for all healthy adult Muslims. Children who have not reached puberty, the elderly, those who are physically or mentally incapable of fasting, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and travelers are exempt.
