Q. Is KLH a good speaker?
Years ago KLH made very good audio products but have fallen off in recent times. You wouldn’t know it hearing these speakers. The 3 way design offers a full sound stage of clean highs and deep punchy bass. They’re a little bigger than you will normally find in bookshelf speakers.

Q. Which is the best model of KLH speakers?
There are many folk here who love vintage KLH speakers. Got a pair of Model 6’s myself – love them. The 50 is a new one on me. The Model 5 is prolly the best of the bunch (although I’ve not heard them), then the 6, 17 & 20 (the 20, IIRC, is the same as the 17, except 4 ohms), then the 24 (a smaller 8″? two-way).

Q. How big are the KLH Model 12 cabinets?
The model 12 is in massive 29″ x 22″ x 15″ cabinets & has 2 separate equalizers, 1 for each enclosure. The model 5 is in a cabinet slightly larger & much heavier than the 6 (which is similar to the large Advent.) The 23’s cabinet in slightly larger than the model 6, but smaller than the model 5.
Q. What is the frequency response of a KLH speaker?
The company lists frequency response as 25 Hz to 23 kHz +/-3 dB, with 250 watts power handling and 8 ohms impedance. KLH specifies sensitivity at 96 dB and the crossover points are 800 Hz and 2.5 kHz. On the outside, black oak and American walnut real wood veneers offer looks to match the sound.
